Schneckenhaus

Our cozy house in the middle of green meadows with a great garden offers you a magnificent view of the Salzburg mountains. Switch off for once and pull yourself back into our Schneckenhaus. Here you will find peace and relaxation. The complete house was renovated with natural materials of high quality. In addition to beautiful pieces of wood, the famous "Rußbacher Schneckensteine" (snail fossils) were used. Our main focus was on sustainability and a high level of living comfort. The wall heating made of clay and a tiled stove spread cozy warmth. In addition, natural wood floors and bedrooms with pine wood ensure a comfortable room climate. In the garden you will find cozy places to relax, play, do sports or have a barbecue. Depending on the season, herbs, salad and berries can  be harvested. A small, lockable area with a natural pond invites you to chill out. How about a small campfire in our fire bowl? A little "hanging around" in the hammock? Should you ever need to check your emails quickly, there is of course a fast W-LAN in all rooms. From our holiday home you look to Russbach, the Salzburg village. The small mountain village, only 300 m away, offers a natural swimming pool, the water park for children, Kneipp facilities, canoe trails, a fossil museum, a bible&scent-garden and is the starting point for your alpine adventure and summit hike or e-bike tour. Children have fun in "Bruno's mountain-world", in the "ghost forest" or in one of our many creeks looking for fossils. The Dachstein West region lies between the Salzkammergut and the Salzburger Land and offers you endless holiday fun. Real tourist magnets such as Salzburg (free public transport) or Hallstatt, mountain experiences such as cable cars and ice caves or bathing fun in the beautiful mountain lakes and thermal baths are all within a few kilometers. The slopes of the Dachstein West ski region are only 900 m away. The ski bus stop is 200 m away. Free ski and boot depots are available in the valley station of the Hornbahn Russbach. Here you will also find the ski school office, the ski rental and the lift ticket office. Your hosts, Eva and Norbert Höll, are also the owners of the Skischule Russbach and will be happy to advise you on all matters relating to snow sports. Russbach is the starting point for great ski and snowboard tours, winter hikes or snowshoe tours. The cross-country runs of Gosau are only 5 km away, there is a toboggan run with a cable car in Abtenau (12 km). Sustainability: The energy for our Schneckenhaus comes from a thermal solar system on the roof. The district heating connection to the neighboring house provides additional heat from a wood pellet stove. There is a traditional tiled stove on the ground floor. You can heat it if necessary. Natural building materials such as wood, clay, driftwood and natural stones were used in the renovation. The terms and conditions for Austrian gastronomy: Cancellation conditions:
